Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our painting and finishing services. If you do not see your question here, please contact us — we are happy to help.
How much does professional painting cost?
The cost of a painting project depends on the size of the area, the condition of the surfaces, the type of paint or finish selected, and the complexity of the work. We provide free, detailed estimates after reviewing your project in person so you know exactly what to expect.
Do you provide free estimates?
Yes. We visit your property, review the scope of work, discuss your goals and preferences, and provide a detailed written estimate at no cost and with no obligation.
Do customers need to supply the paint?
No. We supply all paints, primers, and finishing products as part of our service. We use Sherwin-Williams products exclusively and can help you choose the right colours and finishes. If you would prefer a specific product or different brand, we are happy to accommodate.
What type of paint do you use?
We use Sherwin-Williams paint products exclusively — professional-grade paints and primers selected for the surface, environment, and desired finish. If you would prefer a different brand or specific product, we are happy to accommodate. We will discuss options and make recommendations during your estimate.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. We back all of our work with a one-year workmanship warranty — if something is not right, we will make it right. On top of that, the Sherwin-Williams paints we use carry a manufacturer's product warranty of up to 10 years, so your finish is protected well beyond the job itself.
How long does a painting project take?
Timelines depend on the size and complexity of the project. A single room may take one to two days, while a full home or commercial space may take a week or more. We provide a timeline estimate with every quote and keep you updated throughout the project.
Do you move furniture?
We can move light furniture away from walls to provide access. For larger or heavy items, we ask that you move them before we arrive or let us know so we can plan accordingly. We always protect floors and remaining furniture with drop cloths.
How should customers prepare before painting begins?
We will provide specific preparation guidelines before your project starts. In general, it helps to remove items from walls, clear surfaces near the painting area, and move fragile items to another room. We handle all surface preparation, protection, and cleanup.
Do you prepare and patch surfaces before painting?
Yes. Thorough surface preparation is part of every project. We fill nail holes and minor dents, sand rough areas, caulk gaps, and prime surfaces as needed to ensure a smooth, even, long-lasting finish. (For major drywall repair or new drywall installation, we are happy to recommend a trusted specialist.)
Do you paint occupied homes?
Yes. We paint occupied homes regularly and take steps to minimize disruption. We work room by room, keep work areas clean, and maintain good ventilation throughout the project.
Do you provide commercial painting?
Yes. We provide painting services for offices, retail spaces, restaurants, warehouses, and other commercial properties. We offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, to reduce disruption to your operations.
Can you work outside regular business hours?
Yes. For commercial clients, we offer after-hours, evening, and weekend scheduling. We work with you to create a schedule that fits your business needs.
Do you paint cabinets?
Yes. Cabinet painting is one of our specialties. We follow a thorough multi-step process including cleaning, sanding, priming, and professional spray or brush application for a smooth, durable painted finish.
Do you stain wood?
Yes. We offer wood staining and protective clear-coat finishes for decks, fences, stairs, railings, trim, doors, and millwork. (We do not apply lacquer finishes.)
How long should paint dry before using the room?
Most interior paints are dry to the touch within one to two hours and can handle light use within four to six hours. Full curing typically takes two to four weeks, during which time you should avoid washing or scrubbing painted surfaces. We will provide specific guidance for your project.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Edmonton and surrounding communities, including Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, Beaumont, Stony Plain, Nisku, Morinville, Acheson, Ardrossan, and the greater Edmonton area.
